spn_reversebang: Cyber Town [J2, PG13] by deannawesson

Fic by gretazreta

http://spn-reversebang.livejournal.com/94506.html

Word Count: ~13,600

Summary: Jensen's the best navigator in the Zone: a “flyer” who works with a small crew hacking virtual security systems. It's exciting, profitable, and not entirely legal. When one of his team gets lost on-grid, Jensen teams up with Jared, a “breaker”, who's convinced that there's more to the latest rash of Zone fatalities than meets the eye.

Whoa, is that Jensen center stage? It looks like Garret Hedlund.

Maybe it is meant to be the unidentified boy?

THIS STORY. I loved it, and it's easily in my top three RBB fics. Read it for the world-building alone.

A+++

The art was okay. As for the story, I liked it, but it felt more like a small part out of a larger story. I've read open ended stories before and liked them so I don't think it was that. I just felt that the author had a very cool world they built and I wish that was explored/explained more. Overall I'd rec it, but I probably won't re-read it.

I also really liked this one. Huge world-building effort and it pays off. It reminds me of the first time I read Neoromancer and also when I met the Matrix. Excellent. I really liked Jensen's perception differences between real and cyber, very well done. This is very open-ended if you're not into that.
